Welcome to Kaldobsky.com
For 25 years this site has existed in one form or another, always a mess, and always plastered with the words "Under construction" for all to see. It was a running joke between friends, and one I was happy to keep alive... that my website would stay that way for all time.
In 2010 I stumbled upon the blind community and began using this website for audiogames and accessible software. My primary audience experienced the website as an electronic voice reading off text, so there was still no reason to clean this place up and make it visually appealing. Kaldobsky LLC was founded in 2013, and even though the focus has remained on accessible software, the number of sighted visitors continued to grow.
A long overdue overhaul, and new direction
Nearly every accessible game I have released includes at least simple graphics. Vision is never required, but simplistic high contrast art lets low-vision players use what little vision they have. It can be quite difficult to share these games with sighted friends and family if there are no visuals. We silly sighted folks really do depend on our eyes for almost everything, and adjusting to audio-only games is no small task. By including visuals it is much easier for people to bridge that gap with my games.
In the more recent years I have been spending more time, effort, and money to improve the artwork in some of my games. This is a new direction for me and I'm still waiting to find out if it's a good move or not. The website itself finally made it's way to the top of the list, and is now more than plain text like something out of the 80s. I will probably keep the actual audio games portion of the site unchanged (to avoid any issues with peoples' screen readers), but finally the sighted visitors will have something to look at.
25 years was a long time to maintain the "under construction" joke, but it's a good time to move on to better things.
